Vilnius Montessori is not your ordinary preschool. We are first and foremost a multinational community and family, working towards the common goal of providing educational and social foundations for our World’s future adults.

Following the Montessori Method, an educational philosophy designed by Dr. Maria Montessori, we strive to create an environment conducive to learning where children feel safe, happy, appreciated, and encouraged to focus deeply. Dr. Montessori believed that patterns of concentration and exactness established in early childhood also produce a confident and competent learner in later years.

Our schools have two environments, Toddlers (ages 1 – 3) and Casa (ages 3 – 6). Mixed age groups are fundamental to the Montessori method, giving children the opportunity to discover ways of functioning in real-life social settings. In addition, mixed age learning creates opportunities for unconscious knowledge reinforcement. To quote Dr. Montessori, “Our schools are alive. To understand what the older ones are doing fills the little ones with enthusiasm. The older ones are happy to be able to teach what they know. There are no inferiority complexes, but everyone achieves a healthy normality though the mutual exchange of spiritual energy. ” (Montessori, The Absorbent Mind).
