Rasa Jankauskaitė
Montessori Teacher, Head of staff
Since high school, my dream was to be a teacher. In 2011 I graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical University in Lithuanian philology and joined Vilnius Montessori pre-School as Lithuanian language teacher. The following academic year, I became a teacher’s assistant in the classroom. With every passing day, I found the Montessori Method of Education more interesting. In 2014 I commenced training in the Montessori Method of Education in Lithuania, organized by the Lithuanian Montessori Association.
Working with children in the Montessori environment taught me a lot about child psychology, development, learning styles and most importantly helped me to grow and change my personality together with the children. Based on a philosophy of independence and freedom in a controlled environment, as an observant Montessori Directress I have learnt many positive lessons from children. Working with the staff at VMS and other colleagues in the Montessori field in Lithuania has been a very important learning process for me. Personal growth, career development and challenges are my forte. Looking back I can rest assured that I am challenged on a daily basis in my quest to fulfil my dreams and aspirations.
